Today, Master Chief Eddy Mejias will be relieved by Master Chief Joanne Gibson as Command Master Chief (CMC) for Information Warfare Training Command Corry Station.  Master Chief Gibson’s biography follows:

Command Master Chief Gibson enlisted in the Navy in March 1993. Following completion of Recruit Training at Recruit Training Command Orlando, FL she reported to Cryptologic Technician (Collection) “A” school at Naval Technical Training Command Detachment Fort Devens, Massachusetts with follow-on training at Corry Station, Pensacola. Florida.

Upon graduation she reported to Naval Security Group Activity FT Meade MD, as a Direct Support operator for UNITAS/WATC 95 deployment. Master Chief’s fleet assignments include USS BOXER (LHD 4) SSES Operator and Supervisor and USS CHAFEE (DDG90) SSES/Deck/Operations LCPO. In addition Master Chief completed shore assignments at Naval Technical Training Center Corry Station as an instructor, Naval Security Group Activity Kunia/Navy Information Operations Command, Hawaii as Development and Exploitation Cell lead, U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Intelligence Directorate and Navy Information Operations Command, Georgia as Training Department LCPO/National Mission Department LCPO.  Before assuming Command Master Chief (CMC) responsibilities for Information Warfare Training Command Corry Station, Master Chief Gibson served as the CMC for USS FORT MCHENRY (LSD 43).

Master Chief is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy class 149, CMC/COB Course Class and has earned her Enlisted Surface Warfare, Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare, Aviation Warfare designations and Master Training Specialist. Master Chief Gibson has completed 4 major deployments to the Western Pacific and Middle East in support of Operations Enduring Freedom.

Master Chief Gibson’s personal awards include the following: Defense Meritorious Service Medal (one award), Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy Achievement Medal (three awards), Good Conduct Medal (eight awards), National Defense Medal (two awards), Armed Forces Expeditionary Service, Global War on Terrorism Service Ribbon, Global War on terrorism Expeditionary Medal and various unit awards.
