Did you know NRO pioneering smallsat didn’t stop at GRAB, but continued with Poppy. This satellite was integral for collecting Soviet radar signals in the 1960s. Today, they continue to work with smallsats.

Referring to a fellow Sailor as a Shipmate is more than just a term of endearment, it is a title that embodies the highest honor and respect that one can bestow upon another in the naval service. A Shipmate is not just a fellow Sailor, but a comrade, a friend, and a brother or sister in arms. A Shipmate is someone who practice the core values of the Navy: honor, courage, and commitment.

The secretary of the Navy and chief of naval operations announced the following assignments:

RMDL Tracy L. Hines will be assigned as deputy director, Information Warfare, U.S. Space Command, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado.  Hines is currently serving as Navy cyber security division director, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

RMDL Tracy Hines’ biographer follows:

On the evening of 21 February, USS Bismarck Sea (CVE 95) had just recovered her aircraft from a strike when a swarm of Japanese planes appeared. The escort carrier splashed one bomber, but another one crashed into the ship abeam of the after elevator. The crash knocked four torpedoes on to the hangar deck, parted the elevator cables, and damaged the after fire main.
