Master Chief Ricardo Galvan retires after 30 years of service.  His biography follow:

A native of Napa, California, Master Chief Galvan graduated from Delano High School in June 1991.  Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and reported for recruit training in Orlando, Florida.  Master Chief Galvan is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 164 Gold), Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course, and the 2018 Executive Leadership Symposium.   

Master Chief Galvan completed Electronic Warfare Operator “A” School before reporting to USS McCLUSKY (FFG 41) in Yokosuka, Japan, where he served as an AN/SLQ-32 Operator/Maintenance Man.  His subsequent sea duty assignments include:  USS ASHLAND (LSD 48) as Work Center Supervisor; USS SAN JACINTO (CG 56) as Division LPO; USS MAHAN (DDG 72) as Division LCPO; and USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) as Operations Department LCPO.  Deployments include service in the Persian Gulf, Arabian Sea, Red Sea, Mediterranean, Black Sea, North Atlantic Ocean, and Western Pacific.

Ashore, he served as a Recruiter for Navy Recruiting District Richmond/Navy Recruiting Station Lynnhaven; Direct Support LCPO and Command Administrative/Readiness LCPO at Navy Information Operations Command, Georgia; and Command Senior Enlisted Leader at Information Warfare Training Command, Corry Station.

His command master chief tours include USS ROSS (DDG 71), and Cryptologic Warfare Group SIX.  In July 2019, Master Chief Galvan reported to his present assignment as the Command Master Chief for Naval Air Technical Training Center. 

Along with multiple unit and campaign awards, Master Chief Galvan’s personal awards include the Navy Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards).  He is qualified as an Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Aviation Enlisted Warfare Specialist.

Master Chief Galvan is married to the former Kimberly Ann Grater of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  They have three children.
