LT Peter Philip Perrottet
January 16, 1942 – April 15, 1969
Born in Bronxville New York to Louis and Bernice Perrottet, Peter entered the U.S. Navy from Pennsylvania and served as the Copilot in Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron One (VQ-1), EC-121M (callsign, “Deep Sea 129”). On April 15, 1969, while on a surveillance mission over the Sea of Japan in support of the Korean truce, his aircraft was shot down. All 31 crewmen were reported missing. He was presumed dead on May 2, 1969.
Lieutenant Perrottet awards include:
Purple Heart
Four Air Medals (Strike/Flight) for missions flown while serving with VQ-1 in Da Nang.
National Defense Service Medal
Korean Defense Service Medal

Perhaps a stupid question, but what was he flying in and why and by whom was the plane shot down by? Vietnam? While supporting the Korean truce?
