Chief Petty Officer Shoberg was born in San Francisco, CA in February, 1986.  After graduating from high school in June 2004, he entered the Navy in January 2005.
Following Recruit Training, he transferred to Corry Station, Pensacola for CTM A School.   Upon graduation, he then transferred to the Fleet Intelligence Training Center Pacific, San Diego to work as a Communications Operator.   He was promoted to Petty Officer Third Class.

He then transferred to Navy Information Operations Command, Hawaii.  He worked as the Work Center Supervisor in the Cryptologic Maintenance Shop and was promoted up to Petty Officer First Class during his three year tour.

Chief Shoberg then transferred to USS NEW YORK (LPD 21).   He worked as the Leading Petty Officer for his division.  While onboard, he was selected and promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer.  He then transferred to Information Warfare Training Command Corry Station to be an instructor and Leading Chief Petty Officer for CTM A school.
