Spare me the outrage over the 13 service members lost during Operation Fury if you were SILENT when 13 others died in the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. Grief for those who serve should never be selective or convenient, summoned only when it fits a political moment or a preferred narrative. The uniform they wore and the oath they took did not belong to a party or an ideology; it belonged to the nation.
If the loss of life truly matters, then it should matter consistently—regardless of who was in charge, what operation was underway, or which side of the political aisle finds it useful to speak up.
Those who serve accept extraordinary risks on behalf of the country, but the public has a responsibility to treat their sacrifice with the same seriousness every time it occurs.
Outrage that appears only when it can be weaponized diminishes the very people it claims to defend. The lives lost deserve remembrance, accountability, and respect without qualifiers or partisan filters. If we are going to mourn them, we should do it honestly and completely—not only when it suits us. All fallen service members are HEROES and should be remembered, respected and treated as such.
Just two cents from a Veteran with 30 years of service!!!
Very Respectfully,
Retired Force Master Chief Darin Tuck Williams

We who have “served” know that such “outrage” comes from those who didn’t, otherwise they’d realize what they were asserting rings hollow to those who have. When we donned the uniform and swore our oath, we knew that we’d defend our country and citizens, regardless of their thoughts and actions contrary to our own patriotism. Unlike the “harpies” whose lives are run by their “feelings” (whatever they may be at the moment) we “earned” our place defending what remains of the most incredible nation…founded not on conquest or aristocracy…but derived from the considerable debate and agreement to God given rights and the least invasive government to retain and defend them. NEVER had this been attempted…and yet here we are.
In gratitude for this “gift” I know enough to value each soldier, sailor or airman and never to disparage their “ultimate sacrifice” by inserting “political derision” into their deaths…may those who do, come to the understanding of their own diminution in the eyes of everyone who sees them do so…

thanks for the $0.02 Master Chief because that’s about all this maga rant is worth.
I mourn all loss of human life in these conflicts, most notably the loss of children’s lives because of an unnecessary war in which we can’t even get the targeting
correct on opening night.
and for anon at 923, I say this as a 20 year guy, yet I’m still outraged. So your comment is worth about 0.02 as well.
