I was commissioned through Officer Candidate School on September 27, 2024. My awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Navy Expeditionary Medal, the Navy Good Conduct Ribbon, the Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the Navy Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. My ultimate goal is to one day take command of a NIOC and create new policy change that can make our Navy better.

Marcus,
Good luck to you sir! You have already distinguished yourself in the early phases of your career. Your aspersion of assuming command of an NIOC is commendable and I know you will be successful. I hope in your path to becoming a CO you won’t pass up key afloat assignments, they provide an invaluable education and an irreplaceable amount of experience.
