Rodney Ratchford tried to talk about his wife in the present tense. Amid the devastation at the Pentagon, where Marsha D. Ratchford worked for the Navy as an information technician, her husband had not given up hope. It’s what she would have wanted.

Remembering AG1 Edward T. Earhart, USN, Killed September 11, 2001, at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.

May 14, 1975 – September 11, 2001

Petty Officer First Class Edward Earhart was an aerographer’s mate in the U.S. Navy. Earhart served on ships across the globe, helping the vessels navigate around sea ice, before being stationed at the Pentagon. The Kentucky native loved his job and even kept a picture of an iceberg as his computer’s screen saver.

September 3 1965 – VQ-1 First Deployed EC-121M to Da Nang Full Time

In April of 1965, MiG 17s were first noted in offensive posture, and on July 25, an USAF RB-66C aircraft intercepted FAN SONG B RADAR from North Vietnam, signaling the operational introduction of the SA-2 GUIDELINE missile system. These significant developments, coupled with the expanding air war, made it clear more on-track time was necessary. On September 3, 1965, VQ-1 first deployed an EC-121M “Willy Victor” (PR- 21, BuNo 135749) to Da Nang full time.  This marked the establishment of a permanent VQ-1 detachment at Da Nang. Spooks assigned to these missions were ordered directly to “Senior Naval Aviator, COMFAIRECONRON ONE Detachment, Danang, Republic of Vietnam.” The official establishment of a collocated NSG detachment was still a few years away.

Julian Theodore Cooper, known as ‘Coop’ to some, was born in Washington, DC on April 20, 1962. He departed this life on Tuesday, September 11, 2001.

Remembering Brady Kay Howell, Intell Officer (1830) Killed September 11, 2001, at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.

Born April 4, 1975, 26 years old

Brady Kay Howell, 26, a beloved and fun-loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend, died suddenly while working at the Pentagon on the morning of September 11, 2001, as a result of a tragic attack on the United States of America.
