September 25, 1945 – June 8, 1967
Born to Edward Emory and Virginia Maria (Smith) Rehmeyer in York, Pennsylvania and graduated from the Susquehannock High School in Glen Rock, Pennsylvania in 1964, Edward Emory Rehmeyer III enlisted United States Marines in October of that same year.

He died while giving aid to wounded Navy personnel on June 8, 1967 serving on the USS LIBERTY (AGTR-5) when the ship came under an unprovoked attack by Israeli jet aircraft and motor torpedo boats.
CPL Rehmeyer is remembered as a smart, funny, kind and a wonderful son, brother and friend. His teachers often commented on how bright he was and how quickly he could comprehend any subject. He was a talented pool and chess player and enjoyed sports.
Eddie known to his family and friends is survived and lovingly remembered, especially by his parents, brother and sister.
