SGT Jack Lewis Raper, USMC
August 28, 1944 – June 8, 1967

Sergeant Jack Lewis Raper of the United States Marine Corps was a 1962 graduate of Cedartown High School in Cedartown, Georgia. A lifelong resident of Polk County, he was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown and known for his service, dedication, and quiet strength.

SGT Raper served as a Marine cryptologist and gave his life in service to his country on June 8, 1967. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, the former Miss Sue Carter of Fitzgerald, Georgia; his daughter, Trishia; his brothers, Don and Jimmy Raper of Cedartown; his sister, Judy, also of Cedartown; and his grandparents.

He now rests with honor in Arlington National Cemetery, in Mass Grave #1817, Section 34—a solemn tribute to a Marine who gave all.
