Calling all members!!! We’re less than a week from the dedication ceremony on Bainbridge Island at Battle Point Park, Friday 23 May at 9:30. If you’re able to attend, please join me for a special day of celebrating the important work done at Station Sierra, in the Pacific Northwest during WWII. If you plan to attend, here are the directions:

Folks will want to start gathering at Battle Point Park at 9-9:15 a.m., entering from the east (main) park entrance, in advance of the 9:30 event.

Detailed Directions:

Coming from the north (across Agate Pass Bridge) — Battle Point Park is approximately 5 miles (10 min.) south of Agate Pass Bridge. Follow SR 305 south through the two roundabouts to Day Road traffic light. Turn right (west) onto Day Road West, follow the curve to the left as it becomes Miller Road. Follow Miller south 1.5 miles, turn right onto Arrow Point Drive. Follow Arrow Point through the dips and around the bend to the right until you see Battle Point Park entrance on your left.

Coming from the south (from Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal) — Battle Point Park is approximately 5.5 miles (10-12 min.) north from the Bainbridge Island (Winslow) Ferry Terminal. Follow SR 305 north to Koura Road (there is no signal here, just a left-turn lane). Turn left (west) onto Koura Road and go straight until the stop sign at Miller Road. Turn left onto Miller Road, follow Miller a short distance and turn right onto Arrow Point Drive. Follow Arrow Point until you see Battle Point Park entrance on your left.

When you enter the Battle Point Park gate, you will pass the flagpole and dedication site on your left. There is a parking lot to the right, or drive around the circle to another parking lot next to the playground and tennis courts.
