AT1 Stephen Curtis Chartier, USN
June 3, 1944 – April 15, 1969

Stephen Chartier was born on June 3, 1944 in Los Angeles County to Curtis Chartier and Winifred Alice Ulman.  Stephen was living in Los Angeles, California at the time he enlisted in the U.S. Navy.  At the time of this death he left behind Mrs. Phylis Chartier.

Stephen was killed in action on April 15, 1969, when the EC-121 he was fling in was shootdown by North Korea.  His body lost at sea in the South East of Chongjin, Korea, Sea of Japan.

Aviation Electronics Technician First Class Chartier was serving as the electronic warfare operator (EWOP) onboard the aircraft. His awards include the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean Defense Service Medal.
