Recently, China has declared its readiness to engage in a tariff war or any other form of conflict with the United States. On March 6, 2025, Lin Jian, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that China is prepared to confront the U.S. in a tariff war, trade war, or any other type of war. This declaration came in response to the U.S. implementing new tariffs on Chinese products.
In a related development, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi criticized the U.S. for imposing arbitrary tariffs on Chinese goods, accusing Washington of “meeting good with evil.” He emphasized that such actions strain U.S.-China relations and undermine bilateral trust.
These developments have escalated tensions between the two nations, reflecting a more confrontational stance in their bilateral relations.
