Captain Timika “Timi” Lindsay retired from the Navy in 2021 after 30 years of honorable service to the United States Navy. As a designated Information Warfare Officer, her expertise ranges from information technology, cybersecurity and satellite communications to talent acquisition, strategic development, crisis, risk, and organizational management.
In her last four years of military service, she was hand-picked to serve as Chief Diversity Officer at the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) where she was a trusted team member at the highest levels in the Department of Defense to build, lead, and manage a joint team to advise on policy and procedural issues associated with Culture of Excellence, Diversity and Inclusion, Equal Employment Opportunity and Military Equal Opportunity/Sexual Harassment. She implemented and led two task force teams to identify inequities by gender and race/ethnicity resulting in the formulation of the Navy’s D&I Roadmap and the Naval Academy’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan, designed to improve the Navy’s diversity and retention initiatives.
Timi is the owner of Anchor Leadership Solutions, a professional consulting business with core expertise in strategic planning, facilitation, and leadership coaching programs nationwide. She recently created a non-profit business named Uniting for Progress designed to support community revitalization, economic development, and environmental justice. Timi has extensively worked on understanding clean energy programs such as Offshore Wind and its potential positive impact on the region. She aims to bring about meaningful change and uplift the lives of residents in the Gloucester and Salem County areas.
Timi was featured on MSNBC, “The Culture is Black Women,” and continues to speak at various conferences. She is a 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for her service to the community and country, signed by the President of the United States. She is also a 2024 recipient of Gloucester County’s Women of Action, and the Frank J. Oliver Environmental Award for her advocacy in South Jersey.

CAPT Lindsay is the daughter of Fred Burnett of Gibbstown, NJ, and the late Deborah Abbott Burnett. She is the proud mother of two: Midshipman Eric Lindsay Jr. (USNA ‘25) and Ensign Elise Lindsay (USNA ’23), making them the first black mother-daughter to graduate from this school.
