Chief Warrant Officer Dunn, a native of Sandersville, Georgia, joined the Navy in 1999 through the Delayed Entry Program. He is the son of the late Mr. John Willie Dunn and Mrs. Louise Sanders. He reported to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, in July 2000 and began his career as a seaman. He became a Quartermaster in 2001, later converted to Cryptologic Technician (Collection) in 2003.
CWO4 Dunn has served in a multitude of sea duty assignments, including USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CG 58) served onboard as a Deck Seaman and Quartermaster. USS WASP (LHD 1) served onboard as Leading Petty Officer for Operations OT Division; Expeditionary Combat Readiness Command Norfolk after completion of Individual Augmentee Warrior Skills at Fort Jackson, SC, deployed with 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions to Bagram, Afghanistan as Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) managing daily mission operational requirements; USS NITZE (DDG 94) served onboard as Operations OT Leading Chief Petty Officer; USS NEW YORK (LPD 21), USS RAMAGE (DDG 61), and USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CG 58) served onboard as Cryptologic Warfare Officer for commands. He has completed seven deployments supporting United States Central Command (CENTCOM), United States European Command (EUCOM), and United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) Areas of Responsibilities (AOR).
During his previous shore tours including Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Maryland, CWO4 Dunn graduated a three-year Military Internship Program from the National Cryptologic School and served at NIOC GA as a Battle Watch Captain where he was commissioned as a Chief Warrant Officer. Subsequently to commissioning, he attended Mustang University in Newport, Rhode Island and the Cryptologic Warfare Officer Basic Course in Pensacola, FL. While stationed at NIOC Texas, he served as Information Intelligence & Assurance Department Head, N7 Training and Readiness Department Head, and Operations Officer for the Counterintelligence and Cyber Branch. While stationed at Information Warfare Training Command Corry Station he served as the Legal Officer, as well as lead instructor for the Afloat Cryptologic Manager Course. CWO4 Dunn is currently stationed at the Center for Information Warfare Training (CIWT) serving as a Training Manager.
Chief Warrant Officer Four Dunn is married to Kamaria S. Dunn from Pensacola, FL and have three children Demetrius Jr, Zuri Shani and Zion. They currently reside in Pensacola, FL. CWO4 Dunn has been awarded two Joint Service Commendation Medals, six Navy Commendation Medals, three Navy Achievement Medals, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, four Navy Battle “E” Ribbons, four Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, three Sea Service Ribbons, Navy & Marine Overseas Service Medal, ISAF-NATO-ARTICLE 5 Service Medal, and Marksman Rifle Ribbon.
