November 7, 1982 – Three Soviet citizens Sunday hijacked a Russian jetliner

ANKARA, Turkey — Three Soviet citizens Sunday hijacked a Russian jetliner with 40 people aboard and forced it to land at a U.S. Air Force base in Turkey where they surrendered after stabbing the pilot and two passengers.

A U.S. Embassy spokesman said the hijackers were taken into custody and requested political asylum in West Germany.

The Great U.S. Army Reboot Has Arrived

The U.S. Army of 2027 will look very little like the Army of today. Amidst the many guidance orders and memos flowing around Washington, the Army transformation message stands out for its sweeping changes.

The marching orders are clear: reorient American soldiers around the prioritized missions of homeland defense and deterring Beijing from using force to achieve its political goals.

Remembering Yogi Berra, USN

May 12, 1925 – September 22, 2015

Did you know that among the D Day invasion force was New York Yankees legend and MLB Hall of Famer Yogi Berra? At the age of 19, Berra was a gunner’s mate assigned to attack transport USS Bayfield. The Bayfield carried troops of the 8th Infantry Regiment to Utah Beach.

SR-72 Darkstar Has a Clear Message for China or Russia’s Military

The US plans to fly the SR-72 Darkstar very soon, and this should be another feather in Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works’ cap. The much-anticipated aircraft, which supposedly will travel at Mach 5+ (nearly 4,000 mph), will rewrite the book on stealth and speed among aircraft.
