In 1980, sailors aboard USS Eisenhower spent 152 consecutive days underway during which time they had three separate beer days. Because sailors were permitted to have two cans on each beer day, the deployment became known as the “Six Pack Cruise”.
Times have changed.
The USS Normandy and USS Philippine Sea, both Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruisers, saw their respective 36 years of service honored at decommissioning ceremonies Thursday at Naval Station Norfolk, Va.

Who is David Marlborough. He was the son of two proud parents. He was the middle of 3 male siblings. He was a friend of many, both male and female. He was loved by so many. Our family grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts, in a area of the city known as Hungry Hill, in which the majority of residents were of Irish Descent and of Catholic Faith.

It’s the third time in about a month and the ninth time this year NORAD has reported such an incident involving Russian aircraft flying near Alaska. This latest incident happened Wednesday.
