Master Chief Amanda McDevitt was the first Enlisted woman to be stationed aboard a submarine in 2016, the USS Michigan (SSGN 727), where she completed two deployments. McDevitt is currently serving as the Force Medical Master Chief for the Submarine Force (2021).

A master chief corpsman! And in Submarines! Congratulations to Master Chief McDevitt!
I was impressed by our senior chief in 1970 boot camp San Diego, Company 353. I was at least equally impressed by the many chiefs I had as instructors in hospital corps school, Company 25-71.
