Today, Captain Kevin McHale was relieved by Captain Sanders as Commanding Officer, Navy Information Operations Command Hawaii. Captain Sanders’ biography follows:

Captain Joshua J. Sanders received his commission through the ROTC program at Savannah State University in 1999 where he graduated with a BS in Mathematics. He holds an MBA from Chaminade University of Honolulu, a Master’s of Science in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Doctorate in Public Administration from Capella University.
CAPT Sanders commanded the Navy Information Operations Command Bahrain, where he served as Commander Task Group 1050.2 supporting Commander Fleet Cyber Command/C10F and Commander U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/C5F operations.
He had the privilege of serving in a variety of challenging Information Warfare Community assignments. At Naval Security Group Activity (NSGA) Kunia Hawaii, he served as an Operations Watch Officer and Senior Watch Officer.
He served at Naval Cyber Warfare Development Group (NCWDG) as the Automated Information Systems Department Head and as a Project Manager. While serving at NCWDG, he earned the DIWIA Level 2 Acquisition Qualification. He served at Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command (NCDOC) as the Operations Officer.
CAPT Sanders staff and operational assignments include additional duty with Fleet Cyber Command, and Commander, Tenth Fleet. On the OPNAV Staff as the Cyber Action Officer for the 2014 Quadrennial Defense Review. As the Cryptologic Resource Coordinator (CRC) for Commander Carrier Strike Group Ten aboard USS HARRY S. TRUMAN and USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER.
His joint assignments include US Strategic Command, Joint Functional Component Command, Network Warfare, as a Senior Battle Watch Captain, Training Officer, Operational Planning Team Lead, and as the Computer Network Operations Liaison to Multi-National Corps-Iraq in Baghdad. On the Joint Staff he served as the Cyber and Electronic Warfare Division, Deputy Division Chief for the J39 Deputy Director Global Operations; and as the Division Chief for the Information Integration Division, formally Cyber Policy, Joint Staff J5 Strategy, Plans and Policy.
His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Joint Service Achievement Medal.
