Today, CWO4 Jonathan Brindle retires after 30 years faithful service to our country and navy!  CWO4 Brindle’s biography follows.

Chief Warrant Officer Four Jonathan R. Brindle spent the early years of his life in Bakersfield, California and later moved to Western Kentucky. Entered naval service in August 1991 serving as a Cryptologic Technician Collections (CTR) and accepted commission in October 2011. Married for 21 years to Nannette, has twin daughters Marie and Katarina, son Dalton, and youngest daughter Logan. He holds an Associates in Applied Science for Information Technology with a certificate in Cyber Security.

After graduating CTR A-school, he was assigned to Naval Security Group Activity Northwest, Chesapeake, Virginia, as a Direct Support Element Analyst. He deployed with multiple units to include USS Gato (SSN 615) and USS Scott (DDG 995) in support of Joint Interagency Task Force South and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) in support of Operation Southern Watch. Follow-on tour was onboard USS George Washington (CVN 73) from June 1998 to June 2000.

After completing Analyst and Reporting C-school, he was assigned to Naval Security Group Activity Fort Meade, Maryland serving as an Operations Watch Chief in the Real-time Military Analysis Cell at the National Security Agency. In 2003 he returned to sea duty onboard USS Vella Gulf (CG 72) completing one deployment in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom and one deployment to the Baltic Sea. Additionally, he completed an Individual Augment deployment to Iraq with Multi-National Forces Iraq, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as the Operations Chief.

Following his sea tour, he was assigned to Naval Special Warfare Development Group as a Tactical Information Operations Operator and Detachment Leading Chief Petty Officer, completing three combat deployments with a Joint Task Force to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. In 2011 he was stationed at U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, Maritime Operations Center, N2 Directorate serving as the Senior Iran Intelligence Analyst and Leading Chief Petty Officer where he commissioned to Chief Warrant Officer.

After commissioning, he was assigned to the USS San Jacinto (CG 56) as the Information Warfare Officer. There he earned his Surface Warfare Officer qualification and was an Anti-Air Warfare Coordinator where he deployed in support of Operations Enduring Freedom. Following, he was assigned to Naval Information Operations Command Norfolk as the Information Operations Planner attached to Commander, Carrier Strike Group 10 onboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) where he deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Currently he is assigned at Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command within the N2 Directorate.

Personal awards include Bronze Star with Valor, Joint Commendation Medal with Valor, Joint Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Joint Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (five awards), Information Dominance Warfare Officer Insignia, and Surface Warfare Officer Insignia.
