Today, Commander Chuck Hall will be relieved by Commander Jason Hanser as Commanding Officer, Navy Information Operations Command, Colorado. Commander Hanser’s biography follows:

A native of Montana, Commander Hanser holds a Master of Science in Space Systems Management and Acquisition from Websters University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Montana State University. He enlisted as Cryptologic Technician before earning his commission through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida. Fully joint qualified, he serves as a Cryptologic Warfare Officer with a diverse operational and staff assignment history ashore and at sea.
His fleet assignments include Deputy Director of Intelligence and Fleet Cryptologist for Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central/U.S. Fifth Fleet. He served on the staff of Amphibious Squadron Eight in the capacity of the Information Warfare Commander, Cryptologic Resource Coordinator, and Space Operations Officer as part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group. Aboard USS Bulkeley (DDG 84) he served as the ship’s cryptologist and intelligence officer. His operational deployments spanned the PACOM, EUCOM and CENTCOM theaters in support of operations Northern and Southern Watch, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and numerous joint and multi-national exercises in support of theater security cooperation missions.
Ashore, he served as a Mission Director for the Joint Defense Facility Pine Gap and was the Officer-in-Charge, Navy Information Operations Detachment Alice Springs. While assigned to U.S. Strategic Command, he served as a Regional and Cyber Branch Chief and Executive Assistant to the Director of Intelligence. He served in various positions while at Navy Information Operations Command, Colorado, and as the National Security Operations Center Electronic Warfare Desk Officer and Program Manager for the Technical Signals Intelligence Program at NSA/CSS Fort Meade, Maryland. While enlisted, he served as a signals analyst in support of fleet operations while assigned to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron One (VQ1).
His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal and various Joint and Service Unit awards.
