Today, Captain Brian L. Luke will be relieved by Captain Ann E. Casey as Commanding Officer, of Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group. Captain Casey’s biography follows:

Originally from Westminster, Maryland, CAPT Casey was commissioned in 1997 from the United States Naval Academy, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Following her commission, she attended the University of Cambridge, Trinity College, England where she earned her Master’s degree in International Relations with a specialty on the U.N. sanctions against Iraq. Upon completing her Master’s degree, she reported to the Naval Security Group Activity Northwest in Chesapeake, VA as a Surface Direct Support Officer and Operations Department Head.
In 2001, she reported for duty to the USS ARTHUR W RADFORD (DD-968) as the Electronic Warfare Officer. While onboard, she qualified as Surface Warfare Officer and deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. CAPT Casey then reported to the Naval Information Warfare Activity as an Acquisition Officer. Here she earned her acquisition Systems Engineer Level III and Program Manager Level II qualifications and was accepted into the Acquisition Professional Community. In 2007 she reported to Commander, Naval Air Forces as the Information Warfare Officer in charge of IW manning, training and equipment. In June 2009, CAPT Casey reported to Commander, Second Fleet as the Cryptologic Resource Coordinator. She trained Carrier Strike Groups and Amphibious Readiness Groups for deployments and served as a Joint Collection Manager for the Haitian Earthquake Crisis.
In 2010, CAPT Casey began a Joint tour at the National Security Agency serving in the National Threat Operations Center in Computer Network Defense and then on the Commander’s Action Group (CAG) helping to establish the Cyber National Mission Forces. In the spring of 2013, CAPT Casey deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan as Officer in Charge, Cryptologic Support Group-Afghanistan supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. In 2014 she reported to Carrier Strike Group ONE embarked on the USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70) as the Deputy Information Warfare Commander and deployed as part of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. In 2016, CAPT Casey reported to the Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group as the Executive Officer and the Deputy Program Manager for a $750M FYDP Offensive Cyber R&D portfolio. Since July 2017, CAPT Casey has been assigned to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence as the Division Chief for SIGINT & EW in the SIGINT & Cyber Directorate.
CAPT Casey is married to CDR Brice Casey, an F/A-18 Hornet pilot currently stationed at Patuxent River, MD.
