On August 21, 2017, Petty Officer II, Timothy Thomas Eckels Jr., USN, died suddenly en route to Changi, Singapore while serving his country aboard the USS John S. McCain.
Born October 31, 1993 in Baltimore City, Maryland to Timothy Thomas Eckels and Rachel (Pinkston) Eckels. Loving brother to Shamir Pinkston of Virginia, Laura Eckels, of Washington, D.C., Gabriel, Gavin, and Genevieve Eckels, of North Carolina. Grandson of Jane and Gene Voight, and Irvin and Shirley Pinkston. He will be missed by his stepmother Sonnie Plakotaris-Eckels, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and his niece Olivia. Predeceased by his paternal grandfather William Eckels, and his aunt Lynn Eckels.
