CTR1 (IW/SW/NAC/AW) Francisco D. Peavy was born in Providence, Rhode Island and raised between Rhode Island, Virginia and Florida. After graduating his senior year at Bayside High School, Virginia Beach, Virginia, he entered the Navy on February 14, 2006.
Following Recruit Training he attended CTR “A” School at Center for Information Dominance Unit Corry Station. Shortly after, he transferred to USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) Norfolk, Virginia in 2007. There, he qualified as a primary SSES Supervisor. Additionally, he was promoted to Third and Second Class Petty Officer while earning the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist qualifications.
After being stationed onboard USS Iwo Jima for three years he transferred to Navy Information Operations Detachment (NIOD) Jacksonville, Florida in 2010. There, he qualified as an Airborne Cryptologic Direct Support Operator, and earned the Navy Aircrewman, and Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist qualifications. Additionally, he was advanced to First Class Petty Officer.
Following NIOD Jacksonville, he transferred to the USS Vicksburg, Mayport, Florida the beginning of 2013. There, he served as the Ship Signals Exploitation Space (SSES) Leading Petty Officer and SSES Supervisor.
Petty Officer Peavy reported to Information Warfare Training Command Corry Station, Pensacola Florida in March 2015 as a Maritime Cryptologic Systems Basic Operator Instructor.
CTR1 Peavy’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and the Air Medal (four awards).
