LCPL Larry Jones was born on July 28, 1948 in Thousand Oaks, California.
After enlisting in the United States Marine Corps and basic and cryptologic training, he was assigned to H&S Company, 1st Radio Battalion, 3RD MARDIV, III Marine Amphibious Force.
His MOS/Specialty was 2571: Special Radio Operator (Cryptologist)
LCPL Jones died of his wounds on April 24, 1968, 16 days after he was hit with an explosive device on April 8 in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam.
The location of LCPL Jones’s name can be found on the Vietnam memorial wall on Panel E51, Line 47.
LCPL Larry Jones would be 69 years today.

Thank you and in remembrance, had cause to know him through friends. Jay Hogan III Naval CTS Wahiawa, initial training Pensacola, Florida born Providence, Rhode Island, Sept. 17th, 1947 and living in a different time during this conflict, did share in the military experience of these trying times…. Do pray for and acknowledge his participation.

Correct, he was a Marine Lance Corporal, noncom…..not an officer Lieutenant Commander….. another CTS….
